MOVE

The MOVE Programme is an activity-based framework that enables disabled young people to gain independent sitting, standing, walking and transferring skills. Watergate School uses MOVE assessments to log progress in these areas. Our pupils are supported to set their own MOVE goals by the MOVE coordinator and a member of the speech and language therapy team. MOVE pupils are given opportunities to work on their physical skills throughout the day in their classrooms and through specialised provision in (not sure whether to say Purple or The Oasis?) room. The programme is also supported by the physiotherapy team.

Watergate School is a MOVE Centre of Excellence as we are recognised for our outstanding implementation of the programme and serve as a model of best practice in promoting independent movement for disabled children.
